Role overview A staff-level engineering role focused on reducing a long backlog of website compatibility bugs in a major web browser. The work centers on finishing or verifying diagnoses for site-breakage reports and turning that queue into actionable, fixed, or intervened issues, often using AI-assisted tooling.
Responsibilities - Complete the diagnosis of long-tail web compatibility bugs, or confirm the diagnosis already recorded - Author web compatibility interventions where they are the right fix - Implement simple, AI-assisted code fixes and land them in the codebase - Reproduce and triage incoming site-breakage reports - Move large queues of reported breakages toward resolved or clearly actionable states
Requirements - Solid web development skills across HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, with comfort debugging real-world site breakage - Fluency with browser devtools and cross-browser diagnosis techniques - Comfort using AI tooling to speed up both diagnosis and fix implementation
Nice to have - Familiarity with the Gecko browser engine - Prior experience with web compatibility work or web standards
