Senior Full Stack Engineer, Data Mining

Role overview

This is a senior full-stack role on a data mining team building user-facing tools that help engineers and external customers explore petabytes of multimodal sensor data for autonomous driving. The position anchors the front-end and control plane for an ML-powered data mining framework and a triage/root cause analysis product, turning rare edge cases and long-tail scenarios into intuitive workflows. It is a hybrid or fully remote opportunity based in Boston, Pittsburgh, or Las Vegas.

Responsibilities

- Serve as the technical anchor for customer-facing applications, setting standards for state management, component modularity, and performance with React, Next.js, and TypeScript - Partner with UX and UI designers to translate complex workflows into responsive web interfaces, interactive data visualizations, and telemetry tools - Architect and scale low-latency REST and gRPC microservices in Python and Node.js or TypeScript to handle massive multimodal query payloads - Establish robust unit, integration, and end-to-end testing strategies plus CI/CD pipelines to safeguard user experience across deployments - Collaborate with ML researchers, data mining engineers, and platform teams to turn data curation and triage needs into product features - Mentor engineers on best practices and articulate architectural strategy to peers and stakeholders

Requirements

- BS or MS in Computer Science or a related field with 6+ years of professional full-stack engineering on production web applications - Strong modern front-end experience with React, Next.js, and TypeScript paired with backend development in Python and Node.js for high-performance REST and gRPC services - Practical experience designing high-performance APIs and managing cloud infrastructure on AWS, including EKS and Lambda, with infrastructure as code via AWS CDK in TypeScript or Terraform - Demonstrated experience establishing automated testing pipelines such as Cypress or Playwright and maturing CI/CD practices - Track record collaborating with UX designers, ML engineers, and data teams to turn complex technical domains into intuitive tools

Nice to have

- Prior experience in autonomous vehicles, robotics, or real-time spatial or sensor data applications - Product design sensibilities or direct UI/UX experience - Familiarity with 3D visualization, Canvas or WebGL, or 3D math and linear algebra for sensor data viewers - Background in internal developer tooling, log ingestion, telemetry viewers, or data annotation systems
