Job details
About this role
Role overview Lead the team and technical direction for infrastructure powering large-scale software-in-the-loop simulation and offboard validation for autonomous vehicle software. The systems run millions of simulation jobs each month, help teams assess software changes, and support reliable release decisions. The role combines hands-on cloud and software architecture with team development and cross-functional planning.
Responsibilities - Lead, mentor, and grow a distributed team of simulation infrastructure engineers. - Set the team’s technical roadmap and coordinate priorities with autonomy, testing, release, and simulation teams. - Design and operate high-throughput cloud simulation clusters, load balancing, orchestration, and job-prioritization systems. - Improve cloud compute efficiency through resource sizing, spot capacity, failover, and cost monitoring. - Build modular simulation interfaces and infrastructure for local and cloud execution, scenarios, and test definitions. - Maintain data-generation workflows and observability; lead incident reviews and reliability improvements.
Requirements - Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, robotics, mechatronics, or a related field. - 7+ years of software engineering experience in autonomous vehicles, robotics, or complex cloud infrastructure, or 5+ years with a master’s degree. - At least 4 years leading engineering teams, setting technical direction, and mentoring engineers. - Production-level Python and C++ skills in Linux environments. - Deep AWS experience, including scaling, EC2, spot instances, load balancing, and cost management. - Hands-on experience with GitLab CI/CD, Docker, databases, and observability dashboards.
Nice to have Experience with autonomous-driving simulation, synthetic data, scenario formats, and workflow orchestration is relevant to the work.
