Role overview A remote, Germany-based platform engineering role with a security focus, supporting a policy-as-code platform that helps organizations detect and remediate threats across cloud and on-premises environments. The engineer will shape infrastructure, automate configurations, and translate security requirements into executable policies at scale.
Responsibilities - Build, manage, and optimize cloud infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform and CloudFormation - Automate system configurations with Ansible, Puppet, or Chef - Partner with teams to integrate infrastructure changes into CI/CD pipelines - Work with policy-as-code frameworks including Open Policy Agent and HashiCorp Sentinel - Translate high-level security requirements into practical policy implementations for cloud and on-premises systems - Help scale automated security controls across Kubernetes, AWS, Azure, GCP, and operating system layers - Stay current on infrastructure, automation, and security trends
Requirements - Strong hands-on experience with Terraform or CloudFormation - Proficiency in configuration management tools such as Ansible, Puppet, or Chef - Solid grasp of at least one major cloud platform (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and its core services - Experience with Docker containers and Kubernetes orchestration - Scripting ability in Python, Bash, or similar languages - Networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS) and version control with Git - Strong problem-solving skills, willingness to grow into a security-focused role, and effective collaboration style
Nice to have - Familiarity with Open Policy Agent or Sentinel policy-as-code frameworks - Knowledge of compliance standards such as CIS, SOC 2, or ISO 27001 - Exposure to cloud-native security tooling - Relevant cloud platform certifications (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
