Role overview A central cloud operations team is hiring an engineer to design, deploy, secure, and optimize cloud infrastructure and applications, with a primary focus on AWS. The role is engineering-heavy and centers on building modern, scalable, and secure cloud solutions that align with established architecture frameworks. It suits someone who enjoys shaping a multi-account AWS environment and partnering across teams on cloud transformation.
Responsibilities - Design, manage, administer, and automate enterprise cloud infrastructure services and end-to-end solutions. - Engineer cloud environments for new and migrated applications in line with the AWS Well-Architected Framework. - Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines, golden AMIs, patch management processes, and infrastructure monitoring tooling. - Review cloud security controls continuously and recommend improvements to strengthen posture and compliance. - Partner with application and platform teams to drive Infrastructure as Code adoption and cloud migrations. - Embed governance, auditing, and compliance into cloud environments, and proactively monitor and optimize production workloads.
Requirements - Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, engineering, business, or a related discipline. - 5+ years of experience in cloud infrastructure, IT systems administration, network operations, software development or support, consulting, architecture, or similar technology roles. - 3+ years writing production-grade code and 3+ years automating deployments with Terraform. - 3+ years designing and delivering secure AWS solutions in a multi-account environment. - 3+ years of hands-on DevOps work, including CI/CD pipelines and Git/GitHub workflows (GitHub Actions experience is a plus). - Strong scripting in Python (preferred), Bash, or PowerShell, plus working knowledge of AWS core services such as EC2, VPC, RDS, S3, and Lambda, and security services including IAM, KMS, Route 53, Load Balancers, Shield, WAF, GuardDuty, and Security Hub.
Nice to have - AWS and/or Azure certification. - Familiarity with cloud governance, compliance, monitoring, and operational best practices, paired with strong analytical and cross-team communication skills.
