Platform Engineer

Role overview Join a remote Platform Engineering team focused on building distributed systems that analyze and transform code across thousands of repositories in parallel. The work centers on scaling automated code refactoring infrastructure powered by JVM-based services and AI-driven tooling. This is a fully remote opportunity open to candidates in the US, Canada, and Europe.

Responsibilities - Architect highly scalable distributed systems that orchestrate parallel code transformation across many repositories - Design and implement AI-powered interfaces that enable complex, deterministic code refactoring workflows - Profile and optimize JVM-based services, queues, and storage to eliminate performance bottlenecks - Drive features end to end, from loosely scoped ideas through deployment, architecture, and edge-case hardening - Partner with Product, Design, and Language teams to translate backend infrastructure into a seamless user experience - Influence technical direction through pragmatic, maintainable engineering practices

Requirements - Deep familiarity with the JVM, including performance tuning and profiling of production services - Experience designing distributed systems at scale, including queues and storage layers - Proficiency in writing clean, maintainable code with strong asynchronous communication habits - Comfort owning systems end to end in a remote-first environment with high autonomy - Passion for building developer infrastructure that accelerates engineering teams

Nice to have - Background in automated code transformation, refactoring tooling, or static analysis - Experience mentoring engineers and shaping technical culture across teams
