About this role
Role overview Take product ownership of a consumer VPN app with an established global audience across iOS and Android. Set the strategy, roadmap, measurement approach, and experimentation practice while growing subscription revenue and developing a free, ad-supported offering. The role combines product leadership with close attention to business performance and coordination across engineering, design, data, acquisition, monetization, and legal partners.
Responsibilities - Own product direction and delivery, from prioritization and specifications through launch, in partnership with cross-functional teams. - Improve subscriptions across app-store and web checkout paths, including paywalls, pricing, packaging, trials, retention, and account management. - Develop a free tier, define its feature boundaries and usage limits, and identify upgrade opportunities. - Manage the balance between advertising and subscriptions, including ad placements, mediation performance, fill, eCPM, and effects on paid conversion. - Define analytics events, dashboards, and performance baselines; establish experimentation across onboarding, pricing, paywalls, advertising, and retention. - Track revenue, conversion, churn, lifetime value, and other business measures, and coordinate with legal partners on subscription disclosures, cancellation, pricing, and advertising requirements.
Requirements - At least eight years of product management experience, including four or more years owning a product or business line independently. - Deep experience with consumer subscriptions, including pricing, packaging, trials, paywalls, retention, churn, and mobile store billing on iOS and Android. - Hands-on experience with in-app advertising, such as rewarded video, interstitial, and native placements, and familiarity with mediation platforms and performance metrics. - Experience launching or operating freemium or hybrid-monetization products, with a clear approach to balancing free features and subscription value. - P&L accountability and evidence of delivering measurable business results. - Experience with mobile products at meaningful scale, A/B testing, and product analytics tools such as Mixpanel or Amplitude; strong analytical and communication skills.
