Principal Delivery Manager, Portfolio

Role overview

Establish and lead the delivery approach for a portfolio function whose work includes credit decisions and programs that recognize customer progress. You will shape how initiatives are discovered, prioritized, coordinated, and delivered, building practices that teams can adopt while the function and its operating model are still taking shape.

Responsibilities - Design how portfolio work is planned, tracked, reviewed, and communicated, using outcomes and stakeholder needs to guide the approach. - Lead discovery and early risk assessment for initiatives that span multiple teams. - Coordinate dependencies across teams, surface unknowns early, and drive resolution of cross-functional delivery issues. - Guide sequencing and priority decisions as plans develop, and explain trade-offs and recommendations to senior leaders. - Establish delivery standards and measures, and refine them with the teams doing the work. - Coach other delivery professionals through informal guidance and example.

Requirements - At least 8 years delivering complex cross-functional programs, including work across multiple organizations. - Evidence of creating delivery structures, processes, or engagement models from the ground up and securing their adoption. - Experience defining delivery standards or metrics adopted beyond the originating team. - Strong coordination skills, including anticipating uncertainty and adapting to late changes. - Confident executive communication and facilitation, with the ability to recommend and explain trade-offs. - Experience coaching delivery colleagues without formal management authority; able to travel for in-person collaboration several times a year.

Nice to have

Experience in portfolio management, capital allocation, credit portfolios, financial services, fintech, or another regulated field; experience launching a new function, process, or center of excellence.
