Backend Engineer (Senior+)

Role overview

This position calls for a seasoned backend engineer to help build the core services powering a multi-tenant platform for streaming high-fidelity 3D content across AR and VR devices. The work centers on architecting distributed systems at scale, with full ownership of the API layer and web server backends serving both consumer and enterprise customers. The role sits inside a fully remote, globally distributed engineering team that prizes thoughtful collaboration, accountability, and craftsmanship.

Responsibilities

- Design and ship backend services and the public API layer for a multi-tenant streaming platform - Build and operate the customer-facing and enterprise-facing web server backend at production scale - Shape web application architecture with a strong focus on security, performance, and reliability - Lead code reviews, troubleshoot production issues, and continuously refine the codebase for global scale and maintainability

Requirements

- Seven or more years building backend services and APIs in production environments - Hands-on experience writing high-traffic services in Go - Familiarity with distributed, highly available, and scalable cloud-based systems - Working knowledge of architecture patterns for complex web services, including RESTful or RESTish APIs - Practical experience with containers and content delivery networks
