Product Builder - Fintech

Role overview Lead end-to-end product and engineering work in the acquiring area of a hospitality payments platform. You will build payment acceptance and payment-facilitator capabilities, extend supported markets, and improve reporting into a ledger. This is a hands-on role in a small domain team, with autonomy to define scope, test ideas, ship changes, and operate what you build.

Responsibilities - Define problems, write short design documents, prototype solutions, and demonstrate proposals to peers and stakeholders. - Build and run systems for card and alternative payment acceptance, including authorization, capture, refunds, and disputes. - Develop payment-facilitator functionality, such as sub-merchant data and identifiers, while addressing card-scheme requirements. - Extend payment acceptance across markets and support accurate reporting to a ledger. - Integrate AI into development workflows, verify generated code and payment logic, and share effective practices across teams. - Establish reusable engineering frameworks and coach colleagues adopting this product-building approach.

Requirements - Seven or more years delivering customer-facing software with measurable business outcomes, including work across functions, systems, or product areas. - Practical experience using modern AI tools as a central part of software development, with sound engineering judgment about their output. - Experience integrating a payment provider or acquirer at scale, including APIs, webhooks, idempotency, and reconciliation. - Strong product instincts and experience making product decisions without a dedicated product manager or designer. - Comfort owning work from problem definition through production operation and customer-informed iteration.

Nice to have - Experience in a startup, founder-led, or scale-up environment. - Knowledge of 3DS/SCA, IC++ pricing, chargebacks, or PCI DSS scope. - Experience in a regulated financial environment, including audit trails and personal data handling.
