About this role
Role overview
Set technical direction across a broad security engineering portfolio, coordinating work across teams that own distinct domains. The role focuses on finding risks that cross organizational boundaries—such as identity and authorization for AI systems—and driving coherent, company-wide solutions. Success includes establishing a defensible view of top risks, enabling broad adoption of security controls, and helping senior leaders make clear tradeoff decisions.
Responsibilities - Identify and prioritize security risks across identity, cryptography, product access, AI, cloud, and asset management. - Develop threat models with accountable owners and guide teams toward addressing the highest-risk issues. - Drive shared platforms or controls that can be adopted across multiple engineering domains. - Influence technical direction across production systems, corporate environments, commercial software, and cloud services. - Communicate security tradeoffs and recommendations to engineering partners and senior executives. - Lead cross-company security initiatives in partnership with engineers, analysts, and product managers.
Requirements - Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field. - Deep technical expertise in at least one relevant security domain, with ability to build credibility in unfamiliar areas. - Significant experience leading large, cross-company engineering initiatives and managing security risk in a large organization. - Hands-on engineering background and ability to lead across security and software engineering teams. - Strong communication and influence skills, including translating regulatory frameworks and security practices for technical teams. - Experience with identity and access management, cryptography, or infrastructure at massive scale.
Nice to have - Experience securing AI or machine learning systems, including agent-based workloads. - Familiarity with SOX, SOC 2, or similar control frameworks and the engineering needed to meet them. - Security experience across Linux production environments and Windows, directory services, or SaaS corporate environments.
