Role overview
A consulting firm is hiring a Workday Financials Lead to own functional delivery on enterprise cloud-ERP projects serving public sector clients such as state and local governments, K–12 organizations, and federal agencies. The role is fully remote within the United States, requires up to 30% domestic travel, and is a full-time salaried position. The Lead will guide one or more Financials workstreams from discovery through post-production support while mentoring consultants and shaping delivery standards.
Responsibilities
- Lead one or more Workday Financials functional workstreams through the full implementation lifecycle, from discovery and design through configuration, testing, deployment, and post-go-live support. - Translate business requirements into scalable Workday configurations aligned with solution architecture and product best practices, while identifying cross-process configuration impacts. - Configure and oversee Workday Financials solutions across areas such as Financial Data Model (FDM), Core Financials, Procurement, Grants, Expenses, Banking, or Financial Reporting. - Facilitate design sessions and prototype reviews with client stakeholders, then drive workstream deliverables, timelines, issue resolution, and client communication. - Serve as the primary day-to-day client contact, building trusted relationships with Finance, HR, Payroll, IT, and project leadership teams. - Mentor consultants and associate consultants, review work products, and contribute to pre-sales, recruiting, and practice development initiatives.
Requirements
- 5+ years of Workday Financials implementation experience, including 3+ years leading functional workstreams through multiple full lifecycle implementations. - Active Workday Implementer Certifications, with at least two certifications and Record to Report preferred. - Deep functional expertise in one or more of: Financial Data Model (FDM), Financial Accounting, Procurement, Grants, Financial Reporting, Expenses, Banking & Settlements, or Business Assets. - Demonstrated ability to facilitate client design workshops and manage functional deliverables end to end. - Public sector implementation experience (state/local government, higher education, or K–12) is preferred. - Must reside in the United States, be eligible to work without sponsorship, and be available for standard East Coast business hours.
