Senior Software Engineer - Investments

Role overview This is a senior engineering role on a team that builds trading and custody infrastructure for a fintech platform serving high-growth startups. The engineer will act as a technical lead and hands-on contributor, designing systems that hold and move billions of dollars in customer assets and that empower an internal investment operations team.

Responsibilities

- Lead cross-functional initiatives across brokerage, trading, and custody domains from concept through delivery. - Architect and scale backend services that support individual securities, ETFs, mutual funds, and related workflows. - Partner with product, operations, and compliance to ship features that meet regulatory and customer needs. - Make and defend architectural choices, articulating tradeoffs and their long-term impact. - Mentor and align engineering peers around shared technical direction and product ownership.

Requirements

- Five to seven or more years of backend engineering experience with a track record of ownership and attention to detail. - Domain knowledge of broker-dealer trading and/or custody systems covering equities, fixed income, ETFs, and mutual funds. - Comfort working in AWS and a willingness to dive into infrastructure-level concerns. - Demonstrated success as the technical lead of complex, multi-stakeholder projects from inception to completion. - Clear ability to form, express, and evolve technical opinions backed by practical reasoning.

Benefits and work setup

- Compensation package includes base salary, equity, and benefits; published US range of approximately $200,700–$250,900 USD and Canadian range of approximately $189,700–$237,100 CAD, set by experience, expertise, location, and internal pay equity.
