Senior engineering manager leading a custody-focused team responsible for the systems that account for customer cash and securities. Responsibilities
- Hire, lead, coach, and develop senior engineers while creating a trusting, supportive, and accountable team environment. - Set the team’s technical direction and roadmap, turning broader investment priorities into focused plans and dependable execution. - Guide the architecture and evolution of cash and securities ledgers, security-master services, position tracking, reconciliation, and related operational tooling. - Partner with product, investment operations, compliance, and partnerships teams to convert business and regulatory requirements into practical system designs, controls, and auditable workflows. - Coordinate integration responsibilities and technical roadmaps across internal and external stakeholders. - Maintain high standards for correctness, reliability, incident response, and the ongoing improvement of critical systems.
Requirements
- At least three years of experience managing highly technical engineering teams. - Direct experience building or operating custody systems for registered investment advisers or broker-dealers at scale. - Practical knowledge of ledgers, securities master data, cash and securities reconciliation, position management, and money movement. - Understanding of broker-dealer operating models and data flows among introducing brokers, clearing firms, and custodians. - Experience working closely with compliance and operations teams to turn requirements into effective engineering controls. - Knowledge of securities lifecycles, settlement, corporate actions, and their effects on customer cash and positions across equities, fixed income, ETFs, and mutual funds.
Benefits and work setup
The total rewards package includes base salary, equity, and benefits. The listed target base salary ranges are $239,000–$298,800 USD for US employees and $225,900–$282,400 CAD for Canadian employees, with offers varying according to experience, expertise, location, and internal pay equity.
