Role overview A fintech organization is hiring a Senior Data Analyst to lead reconciliation work across its partner banks and internal systems. The role focuses on operationalizing, standardizing, and scaling end-to-end reconciliation for the financial products and money flows that power the platform, with senior-level ownership of cross-functional initiatives and mentorship of other analysts.
Responsibilities - Design and implement reconciliations for new and existing products and funds flows, setting reusable standards for the broader team. - Develop and maintain data transformations, enrichment logic, and matching rules that support accurate, scalable reconciliation across internal and external systems. - Investigate reconciliation exceptions, lead root-cause analysis, and coordinate with Product, Engineering, Finance, and banking partners to resolve complex breaks and ship durable fixes. - Build monitoring, alerting, and reporting that surface reconciliation risks, trends, and improvement opportunities across the team's portfolio. - Define reconciliation requirements and technical specifications early in the product design process, partnering with Product, Engineering, Data, and Finance. - Support month-end close and audit readiness by preparing timely reconciliation analyses, summaries, and supporting documentation in partnership with Accounting. - Lead cross-functional initiatives on the reconciliation control roadmap and mentor other analysts through hands-on coaching.
Requirements - 6+ years of experience working with complex transactional and financial data in fintech or financial services, spanning reconciliation, settlement, payment operations, or accounting. - Working knowledge of banking payment rails and card networks such as ACH, wires, RTP, FedNow, Visa, and Mastercard, including clearing, settlement, returns, and exception handling. - Advanced SQL skills and hands-on experience developing and maintaining data transformation pipelines using tools like dbt or similar. - Strong investigative background resolving complex financial data discrepancies. - Familiarity with enterprise reconciliation or matching platforms (e.g., Blackline) or similar tooling. - Experience building BI or monitoring dashboards using tools such as Omni, Looker, or Tableau, and a track record of leading cross-functional initiatives with technical and non-technical partners.
Nice to have - Prior experience mentoring or developing other analysts. - Exposure to audits, regulatory reporting, or financial-control testing.
Benefits and work setup - Total rewards package includes base salary, equity (stock options or RSUs), and benefits. - Compensation is calibrated to industry survey data and set based on experience, expertise, location, and internal pay equity. - Listed US base salary ranges: $192,300–$235,100 USD for candidates in New York City, Los Angeles, Seattle, or the San Francisco Bay Area, and $173,100–$211,600 USD for other US locations; Canadian range listed as $181,700–$222,200 CAD.
