Role overview
This is a senior backend engineering role focused on building and maintaining the large-scale systems that power a women's and family health platform. The position involves leading the technical design of reliable, high-performance services while partnering with cross-functional teams to deliver features that improve clinical outcomes and expand access to care.
Responsibilities
- Lead the design, development, and ongoing maintenance of highly scalable, performant, and reliable backend systems. - Collaborate closely with product, design, and other engineering teams to deliver high-quality features aligned with customer needs. - Uphold and evolve engineering quality standards, including code quality, testing, and operational reliability. - Mentor peers and contribute to architectural decisions that shape platform direction. - Identify and address technical debt, performance bottlenecks, and scalability concerns proactively.
Requirements
- Significant senior-level experience in backend software engineering. - Demonstrated ability to design and ship scalable, production-grade systems. - Strong collaboration skills with cross-functional partners across product and engineering. - Solid understanding of software quality practices, including testing, code review, and operational monitoring. - Track record of balancing technical leadership with hands-on implementation.
Nice to have
- Experience building systems in healthcare, telehealth, or other regulated domains. - Familiarity with cloud-native architectures and modern backend frameworks.
