Job details
About this role
Role overview Own the reliability and performance of a mobile collaboration app used in environments where connectivity can be limited, intermittent, or unavailable. You’ll work across cross-platform and native code, improve how the app handles synchronization and recovery, and help guide the mobile architecture as it evolves.
Responsibilities - Design for constrained network conditions and improve connection handling, synchronization, local state, and recovery from failures. - Use telemetry and release-health signals to identify regressions, investigate crashes, and drive fixes through to resolution. - Profile and improve startup, networking, storage, rendering, memory use, and battery performance on real devices. - Own key iOS and Android integrations, including push notifications, background execution, secure storage, app lifecycle, and real-time communications. - Diagnose production issues using native traces, device profiling, telemetry, and limited field logs. - Mentor engineers, advise on architecture, support secure enterprise distribution, and contribute to open-source development.
Requirements - Deep expertise in iOS or Android development and working knowledge of the other platform. - Strong understanding of mobile architecture, platform SDKs, lifecycle constraints, and networking. - Experience building dependable mobile systems that handle unreliable connectivity, synchronization, and recovery. - Skill in performance profiling and production debugging on physical devices. - Experience using crash metrics and release data to improve reliability, and owning technical decisions and outcomes. - Willingness to work across native and cross-platform code, and to use AI coding tools with sound engineering judgment.
Nice to have Experience with React Native and TypeScript, offline-capable storage or synchronization, WebRTC or native calling and audio APIs, mobile device management and enterprise deployment, constrained operating environments, or open-source projects.
