Remote job
Founding Engineer
Job details
About this role
Role overview Join a founding engineering team building a persistent cloud environment for AI agents and the people who work with them. The work spans systems foundations and user-facing product: shaping architecture, implementing core capabilities, and turning observed user problems into durable product features. Engineers use the product in their own development work, giving the role a direct connection to the systems being built.
Responsibilities - Design and build agent capabilities for durable sessions, model routing, tool execution, context, memory, and safe delegation. - Develop persistent developer environments, including terminals, PTYs, session recovery, repositories, previews, files, and long-running tasks. - Improve the lifecycle of per-user cloud computers, covering provisioning, identity, updates, health, backups, recovery, and user-controlled data. - Build product experiences across web, desktop, mobile, and command-line interfaces. - Create reliable real-time coordination between users, agents, devices, and background work. - Own engineering work end to end, from architecture and implementation through tests, database migrations, instrumentation, and operational support; speak with users to identify problems worth solving.
Requirements - Product-minded systems engineering experience suited to owning substantial product and infrastructure work end to end. - Ability to work across TypeScript services, Linux runtimes, PostgreSQL, real-time protocols, and security boundaries. - Sound judgment in architectural decisions and the ability to turn those decisions into production code and operational paths. - A user-oriented approach to problem solving, with an interest in observing how people work and building reusable solutions.
Benefits and work setup - Full-time, remote role with European-hours overlap. - Work directly with the founding team and use the product as part of your development environment.
