Senior Software Engineer - Cloud Platform Engineering

Role overview

A senior engineering position focused on building and operating the application layers, business logic, and API workflows behind a globally distributed relational database-as-a-service platform. The role sits inside a small, high-ownership team responsible for multi-cloud infrastructure that powers enterprise-grade data services. Expect hands-on, end-to-end ownership of features from concept through production in a fast-moving environment.

Responsibilities

- Design and implement application layers, business logic, and API workflows for a cloud-native data management platform - Build and maintain Infrastructure as Code using Terraform for reproducible, multi-cloud deployments - Develop and operate production services running on Kubernetes and Docker across AWS, GCP, and Azure - Take features end-to-end, from functional specification through implementation to production launch - Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines that enable automated, scalable deployments - Write cloud-native services, controllers, and automation tooling in Go or Python

Requirements

- 5+ years of professional software development experience, with at least 2 years focused on data-intensive applications or database-adjacent systems - 8+ years of software engineering experience with deep expertise in distributed systems and cloud-native architecture - Hands-on production experience deploying, debugging, and managing application services across at least two major public clouds - Advanced proficiency with Terraform for complex orchestration - Strong command of Python plus high proficiency in at least one backend language (Go, Java, or C++) - Practical expertise with relational databases: complex SQL, indexing, query optimization, transactions, and schema design - BS/MS in Computer Science or a related technical field

Nice to have

- Experience with vector databases, embedding pipelines, semantic search, or retrieval-augmented generation systems - Prior work building LLM-based applications or workflows using agent frameworks such as LangChain, LangGraph, CrewAI, or AutoGen - Hands-on experience developing MCP servers or integrating Agent2Agent protocols into production - Familiarity with agent memory frameworks (Mem0, Graphiti, Letta) or graph databases (Neo4j, Kuzu, FalkorDB) - Background with in-memory data grids or semantic caching systems such as Redis - Knowledge of system-versioned tables, temporal SQL, or open-source relational database engines
