Senior Combat Systems Engineering Consultant

Role overview This senior consulting position supports a U.S. Navy combat systems program, advising program leadership on computing infrastructure for next-generation shipboard systems. The role is fully remote, part-time, and focuses on guiding the development, qualification, and integration of hardware and networking components for Integrated Combat Systems (ICS). It suits an experienced defense engineer comfortable working in a fast-paced acquisition environment on classified efforts.

Responsibilities - Advise the Principal Assistant Program Manager for Computing Infrastructure on hardware and peripherals qualification and integration for future ICS configurations. - Lead development and integration support for secure communications systems, displays, and shipboard peripherals. - Provide technical direction for Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) and Mission Critical Environment (MCE) 2.0 networking, processing, and storage architectures. - Serve as subject matter expert for hardware acquisition and procurement activities across the ICS portfolio. - Tackle complex systems engineering challenges tied to the evolution of shipboard combat platforms.

Requirements - Master's degree in a technical field with 10+ years of relevant Navy program management experience, or Bachelor's degree in a technical field with 15+ years of equivalent Navy experience. - Prior experience in a senior role on a Navy acquisition program. - Demonstrated experience with DoD systems architecture, design, development, and test and evaluation. - U.S. Citizenship and an active Secret security clearance. - Ability to remain stationary approximately 50% of the time and to support occasional in-office or on-site communication needs.
