About this role
Role overview Technical lead for the Audience Growth team of a long-running email marketing platform used by more than a million small businesses, creators, and coaches worldwide. The team owns the front door of the product: signup forms, landing page and website builders, subscriber imports, preference centers, and social platform integrations. The role combines hands-on coding with engineering leadership, working shoulder-to-shoulder with product and design partners.
Responsibilities - Lead a team of engineers through discovery, delivery, and ongoing production ownership of audience-growth surfaces. - Build and maintain landing page and website builders, signup forms, preference centers, and opt-in flows, plus integrations that bring subscribers in from third-party platforms. - Keep forms, imports, and opt-in flows fast, reliable, and resistant to abuse in production. - Own quality, performance, monitoring, and incident response for the team's areas end to end. - Set technical standards through code review, pairing, and mentoring, helping engineers grow into more ownership.
Requirements - 6+ years building production web applications, with strong PHP and Laravel experience. - Solid modern JavaScript, ideally Vue 3, given the team's focus on rich interactive UI such as builders and editors. - Prior experience leading engineers technically as a tech lead or senior engineer with lead duties. - Comfort designing and maintaining REST APIs and integrating with third-party APIs and OAuth. - Good relational database skills (PostgreSQL preferred) plus experience with background jobs and queues. - A product mindset, with the ability to join customer research, challenge requirements, and measure results after launch. - Excellent written and spoken English and comfort working asynchronously in a remote team, with roughly 5 hours of overlap with Central European Time.
Nice to have - Building drag-and-drop editors or page builders. - Integrating with social platforms such as Meta APIs or developing WordPress plugins. - Understanding of consent and opt-in requirements like GDPR and double opt-in. - Bot and abuse protection for public forms. - Shipping AI-powered features or using AI-assisted development tools day to day.
