Business Systems Engineering Manager

Role overview This position leads a distributed Business Systems Development team of roughly eight engineers spread across North America and Asia, blending hands-on technical contribution with people leadership. The role sets technical direction across CRM, ERP, integration, and data platform work while mentoring developers and partnering with business stakeholders. It is a player-coach opportunity for someone who enjoys both writing code and growing a team.

Responsibilities - Contribute hands-on as a developer and reviewer across Salesforce (Apex, Lightning Web Components, Flow) and MuleSoft integrations, while providing DBA-level guidance when needed. - Define technical standards and architectural patterns for Salesforce, NetSuite, MuleSoft, data platform engineering, and database administration. - Build the team's roadmap for new capabilities in ETL, data platforms, and DBA practices, including training, hiring, and process design. - Manage and mentor a globally distributed engineering team, covering hiring, performance reviews, career growth, and daily prioritization. - Translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions in partnership with stakeholders and technology leadership. - Oversee database administration, including performance tuning, security, backup and recovery, and data governance for production systems. - Identify and deliver automation and process improvements that increase reliability and reduce manual work across the business systems stack.

Requirements - Demonstrated hands-on Salesforce development experience using Apex, Lightning Web Components, Visualforce, Flow, and SOQL/SOSL, including custom builds and complex integrations. - Practical database administration skills covering schema design, tuning, security, and backup and recovery on relational databases, with Databricks or comparable modern data platform experience strongly preferred. - Hands-on familiarity with modern AI-assisted code generation tools such as Cursor, GitHub Copilot, or equivalent. - At least three years leading, managing, or mentoring developers, ideally in a player-coach model. - Active personal development and story work, not purely managerial responsibilities.

Nice to have - NetSuite development or administration experience. - MuleSoft development experience with Anypoint Platform, DataWeave, and API-led connectivity, or readiness to lead a team building this capability. - Experience managing distributed teams across multiple time zones. - Strong grasp of API integration patterns, ETL pipelines, and enterprise system architecture. - Familiarity with data governance, security, and compliance standards. - Solid troubleshooting ability for complex cross-system issues in a sales systems context. - Project management skills and Agile or Scrum experience. - Relevant certifications such as Salesforce Platform Developer I or II, MuleSoft Certified Developer, or database and cloud data credentials. - Clear communication skills for translating technical concepts to business stakeholders and representing the team to senior leadership.

Benefits and work setup The posted compensation range for this role is $110,000 to $150,000 per year. The position supports a remote-friendly, distributed team across the U.S., Canada, and Asia.
