About this role
Role overview
A remote Senior QA Engineer position focused on a tax, compliance and reporting platform that includes e-balance and VAT functionality. The role owns quality strategy across manual and automated testing while supporting two collaborative product teams (one Java-based, one .NET-based) and coaching developers to take growing ownership of their own test coverage. The mission is to raise the quality bar through test automation, AI-augmented workflows, and performance engineering.
Responsibilities
- Define and own the end-to-end test strategy across manual and automated testing for the tax, compliance and reporting platform. - Build and maintain automated test coverage in Playwright and TypeScript, shared across two engineering teams. - Coach and mentor developers so they can take meaningful ownership of their own tests, lifting overall team quality. - Apply AI techniques to improve QA workflows, including test design, automation, reporting and internal tooling. - Stand up performance testing from scratch with K6, including framework design, monitoring and reporting. - Partner with engineering leads to evolve how quality is defined and embedded as the testing framework matures.
Requirements
- Hands-on experience across both manual and automated testing, with proven Playwright and TypeScript coverage work. - A track record of using AI in QA for automation, test design, reporting or tooling. - Comfortable working in an agile environment with strong written and spoken English. - Confident communicator who can work directly with developers to help them own their own testing.
Nice to have
- Performance testing experience, ideally with K6; JMeter background is welcome too. - Familiarity with Git-based version control and CI/CD tooling such as GitHub Actions. - Exposure to Java or .NET codebases (no prior knowledge required).
Benefits and work setup
- Flexible and hybrid working with self-directed hours and location planning. - Ability to work remotely from another country for up to 90 days per year through a partner program. - Dedicated professional development budget with structured feedback and regular development dialogues. - Paid volunteer days, wellbeing programs, sport subsidies and mental health support. - 28 days of paid vacation, private health insurance, and a corporate discounts platform.
