AI Solutions Engineer
Job details
About this role
Role overview A SaaS company building CFO solutions for finance and tax teams is creating an internal AI engineering function and is hiring an AI Solutions Engineer to own small-to-medium internal tools end to end. Working hands-on with LLMs, tool calling, retrieval-augmented generation, agent architectures, and AI-assisted development tools, you will partner with colleagues in Finance, Sales, People, IT, and Legal to scope, build, and continuously improve the AI agents and automations they rely on every day. This is a remote role with a strong emphasis on practical impact and reusable components.
Responsibilities - Design and build AI agents and multi-agent systems using prompt engineering, tool calling, retrieval-augmented generation, and agent architectures. - Run and extend live AI agents in production, investigating failures, shipping fixes, and adding new integrations as needs evolve. - Own delivery of internal AI tools from the first stakeholder conversation through production deployment and ongoing monitoring. - Use AI-assisted development tools daily and help shape team standards for spec-driven development. - Build integrations with REST APIs and workflow automations, choosing deterministic or AI-driven approaches based on what fits the problem. - Develop evaluations, golden datasets, and guardrails, including human-in-the-loop steps, to keep agents reliable. - Deploy and maintain workloads via CI/CD pipelines and cloud infrastructure, tracking usage, errors, and cost. - Partner with business teams to scope needs and track adoption and outcomes.
Requirements - Delivered at least one LLM or agentic project end to end, whether through work, internship, thesis, or side project. - Solid programming fundamentals in Python, TypeScript, Java, C#, or Go, including testing, debugging, and Git. - Hands-on knowledge of prompt engineering, tool calling, context windows, retrieval-augmented generation, and agent architectures, plus a clear view of where LLMs fail and how to make them reliable. - Practical experience with REST APIs and basic SQL. - A product mindset, with curiosity about whether tools actually get used and save people time. - Clear written and spoken English, with the ability to explain technical tradeoffs to non-technical colleagues in a remote, cross-functional team.
Nice to have - Experience with agent frameworks such as LangGraph, LangChain, or LlamaIndex, workflow automation tooling, or AWS, Docker, Terraform, and CI/CD pipelines. - A STEM degree, or a portfolio of real technical work that demonstrates equivalent depth.
Benefits and work setup - Fully remote role with flexible and hybrid working options and the ability to work up to 90 days per year outside your home country through a partner programme. - Professional development budget with dedicated time and resources for skill-building. - Structured feedback process to support personal and professional growth. - Paid volunteer days, health and wellbeing programmes, sport subsidies, and external mental health support. - 25 days of paid vacation per year, private health insurance, and access to a corporate discounts platform across travel, retail, technology, and more.
