Test Engineer (SDET)

Role overview A test engineering role focused on building and scaling the automated validation frameworks that keep a multi-tenant enterprise SaaS platform reliable. The position blends hands-on automation with AI-augmented tooling, data-driven testing strategy, and cross-team enablement. It suits an engineering-minded QA professional who treats AI as part of the craft and takes operational ownership of quality boundaries across a microservices architecture.

Responsibilities - Design, build, and maintain scalable automated testing frameworks and end-to-end regression suites using TypeScript and Playwright, augmented by AI-driven code generation. - Validate backend APIs and integration layers with strict attention to the testing pyramid across unit, integration, and end-to-end layers. - Drive swarm testing efforts, systematically covering edge cases, error conditions, and happy paths while mentoring QA Analysts on automated testability. - Independently diagnose and isolate test failures and platform defects by parsing distributed logs and using Datadog monitoring patterns. - Author test strategies, automation runbooks, and defect reports in the codebase and team documentation. - Manage automated test data across relational databases and platform data stores, leveraging AI tools to query and optimize flows. - Partner with engineering leadership to shape department-wide QA standards, including AI governance, coverage ownership, and documentation practices. - Enable QA Analysts through pairing, code reviews, and capability building to shift manual effort toward automated coverage.

Requirements - 3–5 years of experience in software test automation, systems validation, or backend engineering within a high-growth SaaS environment. - Strong programming experience with TypeScript or a comparable scripting language and automated testing frameworks. - Practical use of AI coding assistants such as Cursor, GitHub Copilot, Codex, or Claude Code in a normal workflow, including prompt design and verification discipline. - Deep command of the testing pyramid and hands-on skill writing API tests, functional end-to-end tests, and performance tests. - Experience coaching or upskilling less-automation-fluent engineers and multiplying impact through others' skills. - Demonstrated ability to debug distributed backend microservices using logs and enterprise monitoring platforms.

Nice to have - Familiarity validating message queues (RabbitMQ), graph databases (Neo4j), or distributed caching (Redis) under automated scale. - Background validating multi-tenant B2B SaaS applications with strict data isolation, high availability, and security verification tooling. - Experience building or maintaining lightweight coverage dashboards across teams.
