About this role
Role overview Build an automotive diagnostic adapter that helps engineers investigate modern cockpit systems spanning multiple operating systems on a single chip. This is a scoped, deliverable-based contract focused on connecting diagnostic data across those environments, with a possible path to a full-time technical staff role.
Responsibilities - Parse and correlate cockpit data, including QNX SLOG2, DLT, Android IVI logs, Perfetto traces, packet captures, and CAN records. - Align events across different clock sources, including ECU, QNX, kernel, and Android time domains. - Develop diagnostic workflows for UDS and DoIP, including diagnostic trouble code handling. - Work directly with a small engineering team to debug and deliver the agreed adapter scope.
Requirements - 10 or more years of relevant engineering experience, including automotive embedded systems. - Experience with AUTOSAR Classic or Adaptive, and fluency with CAN or CAN-FD and DBCs. - Knowledge of UDS, DoIP, SOME/IP, and ECU or domain/zonal architectures. - Experience with DLT; QNX experience is strongly valued. - Regular use of command-line AI coding tools as part of engineering work.
Nice to have - Android Automotive OS or its software-defined vehicle stack, including VHAL. - Hypervisor-based cockpit systems, functional safety concepts such as ISO 26262, or Vector tools such as CANoe and CANalyzer.
Benefits and work setup - Remote contract with at least four hours of daily overlap with Pacific or India Standard Time; occasional in-person meetings may be possible in Seattle or Bengaluru. - Deliverable-based work with flexibility in how hours are managed. - Early ownership, visibility into product and customer work, and access to AI tools used across engineering and operations.
