Field Application Engineer

Role overview Serve as a technical partner to customers and regional sales teams across Europe, the Middle East, and Africa, helping customers select and apply electrical technologies. Support design-ins from early requirements through validation and production, while bringing customer application needs back to internal engineering and product teams.

Responsibilities - Assess customer specifications and recommend component or system-level solutions across a broad product portfolio. - Provide technical guidance throughout application development and product design-in. - Troubleshoot application issues and assist with laboratory investigation, testing, and validation. - Work with sales colleagues to identify opportunities and advance strategic customer projects. - Deliver technical presentations, workshops, and product training for customers and distribution partners. - Share customer requirements and market insights with product, research, development, and quality teams; travel across the region for customer work.

Requirements - Bachelor’s degree or higher in electrical or electronic engineering, power electronics, or a related discipline. - Five to seven years of relevant experience in field applications, application or design engineering, or a similar role. - Ability to interpret system architecture, technical specifications, and customer application requirements. - Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and communication skills, including explaining technical topics to commercial audiences. - Customer-facing approach and willingness to travel approximately 50–60% across the region. - Fluent English; must be comfortable supporting a broad range of technologies.

Nice to have - Experience with power semiconductors; related experience in power electronics, industrial automation, protection, or sensing is also relevant. - German or Italian language skills.
