Senior Software Engineer, Processing

Role overview A senior software engineering role on a Processing team that builds and maintains the real-time interfaces between a card issuing platform and external payment networks. The position is central to every authorization, clearing message, and settlement, with strict latency and uptime requirements and meaningful exposure to network infrastructure and connectivity.

Responsibilities - Ensure high reliability, low latency, and correctness for transaction processing interfaces and related services. - Develop new capabilities across authorization, clearing and settlement, disputes, and network integration surfaces. - Maintain the infrastructure supporting physical network peering with card network partners, including failover and capacity planning. - Own initiatives from planning to launch, keeping stakeholders aligned and contributing to on-call rotation. - Lead efforts to improve systems and processes within the team and across engineering, partnering on strategic planning with engineering and product leaders.

Requirements - 8+ years of experience shipping code in fast-paced production environments. - Advanced instincts and design skills for distributed systems, with experience driving large cross-functional projects across engineering, product, and operations. - Strong written and verbal communication skills and a demonstrated commitment to empathy and inclusion. - Growth mindset and a continuous drive to learn and improve. - Interest in fintech and the payments space.

Nice to have - Hands-on experience with Java, Python, or Kotlin on AWS, and with transaction flows across major card networks.
