Fullstack Engineer (work from home in Medellin, Colombia)

Role overview

Build and maintain web product features across the frontend and backend, from user-facing interfaces to APIs, services, and data queries. The role combines product-focused UI work with Python development and SQL analysis, with an emphasis on reliable integrations, testing, and performance. You’ll collaborate with product, design, and QA, and take ownership of work across the application.

Responsibilities

- Develop responsive interfaces and user-facing features using Vue.js, Vuex, and TypeScript. - Turn business needs and user goals into clear, usable interface experiences in collaboration with product, design, and QA. - Build Python server-side applications and microservices, and integrate them with frontend components through REST APIs. - Write and optimize SQL queries to gather and analyze data from multiple sources; troubleshoot database performance. - Test features, contribute to code reviews, and create end-to-end integration tests. - Maintain code quality and improve application performance across the stack.

Requirements

- Two to four years of software engineering experience covering both frontend and backend development. - A computer science or related technical degree, or equivalent practical experience. - Proficiency with HTML, CSS or SCSS, JavaScript and TypeScript, Vue.js, Vuex or Pinia, and a modern build tool such as Webpack or Vite. - Python experience, including building and integrating APIs with FastAPI. - Strong SQL and database optimization skills; familiarity with microservices, Git, and collaborative Agile development. - English proficiency, clear communication, and strong troubleshooting skills. - Commitment to testing, code quality, and performance.

Nice to have

- Experience with relational and non-relational databases, cloud infrastructure, Docker, message queues such as Kafka, caching, or performance profiling. - Familiarity with machine learning concepts or large language model frameworks. - Postgraduate technical study or equivalent additional experience.
