Senior Gen AI Software Engineer
Job details
About this role
Role overview A senior software engineering role on a generative AI team within a performance marketing platform focused on the mobile app economy. The position owns AI-powered features for advertiser-facing products end to end, from workflow discovery and prototyping through production rollout, measurement, and ongoing improvement. Work spans Python services, data pipelines, and TypeScript plus React user interfaces that surface AI capabilities to internal customer-facing teams.
Responsibilities - Own AI product capabilities end to end, including user workflow research, implementation, rollout, measurement, and iteration. - Prototype and validate AI approaches quickly with focused experiments before turning successful paths into production-ready capabilities. - Build agentic workflows that reason over campaign, customer, creative, and performance data using well-defined tools, with structured outputs and appropriate human-in-the-loop handoffs. - Define how AI systems access data, tools, and instructions to produce grounded results. - Make AI workflows reliable in production through tool use, state management, failure recovery, and clear human review boundaries. - Build evaluation systems that measure whether AI features accomplish the intended task, using realistic examples and a mix of automated checks and human judgment. - Instrument AI features for quality, adoption, business impact, latency, cost, and failure modes, and apply safeguards for customer data and high-impact workflows. - Mentor other engineers on designing, testing, and operating AI-powered products.
Requirements - Bachelor's degree plus approximately 8 years of relevant engineering experience. - Seasoned software engineer who has built and operated meaningful production products, ideally including zero-to-one work spanning backend services, data, and user interfaces. - Hands-on experience shipping LLM-powered or AI-assisted products beyond a demo, with a clear understanding of practical reliability challenges. - Strong Python skills for services and data pipelines, plus TypeScript and React for user-facing experiences. - Pragmatic judgment about when to adopt new models or techniques based on quality, capability, speed, or cost improvements.
