Backend Engineer (Multiple Positions)

Role overview

The team is hiring multiple backend engineers to help build the services behind a software delivery and feature management platform used at very high scale. Engineers design, run, and improve APIs, distributed systems, configuration and event pipelines, and platform infrastructure that directly affect how customers release, observe, and protect their software.

Responsibilities

- Design, build, test, and operate production services and APIs that other engineers and customers depend on. - Lead projects or meaningful components from problem definition through deployment and ongoing iteration. - Make deliberate tradeoffs across scalability, performance, reliability, security, maintainability, and delivery speed. - Improve observability and operability of owned systems through metrics, logs, traces, alerting, and post-incident learning. - Collaborate with product, design, support, customer success, and partner engineering teams to translate needs into simple, scalable solutions. - Participate in design reviews and code reviews, contributing constructive feedback and learning from teammates. - Investigate production issues calmly and turn operational lessons into durable improvements.

Requirements

- Five or more years building and operating production software in a professional environment, or equivalent demonstrable experience. - Strong fundamentals in data structures, algorithms, testing, debugging, and API design. - Proficiency in a backend language such as Go, Python, or Rust, or an equivalent language. - Experience designing or contributing to services that must remain reliable, observable, and maintainable as usage grows. - Ability to explain technical decisions and tradeoffs clearly to both technical and non-technical partners. - A collaborative approach, a sense of ownership, and comfort working through ambiguous problems in unfamiliar systems.

Nice to have

- Experience with cloud platforms, distributed systems, SDK engineering, data infrastructure, observability, or AI and agent systems.
