Senior Director of Engineering

Role overview

Senior engineering leader responsible for a large, multi-team organization building customer-facing products for performance management, engagement, and goal setting. Responsibilities

- Lead an organization of more than 50 engineers and managers across multiple customer-facing products. - Make investment and prioritization tradeoffs across customer needs, product strategy, roadmap commitments, and engineering capacity. - Coach and develop engineering managers and senior leaders while strengthening execution, leadership quality, and organizational health. - Partner with Product and Design to define strategy, plan roadmaps, and translate priorities into measurable customer outcomes. - Maintain high standards for product quality, reliability, scalability, and customer experience while supporting rapid development. - Establish systems, processes, and operating practices that help multiple teams plan effectively, deliver consistently, and learn from results.

Requirements

- At least 10 years of engineering management experience. - At least five years leading engineering organizations with multiple teams and layers of leadership. - Experience managing engineering investment across a portfolio of products and making sound decisions under resource constraints. - Track record of delivering high-quality products where trust, reliability, and scalability are important to customers. - Demonstrated ability to develop both engineering managers and individual technical leaders. - Strong communication, executive presence, autonomy, judgment, and cross-functional influence.

- Curiosity about AI and its potential to improve how organizations develop people. - Strong product instincts and experience representing engineering in customer or prospect discussions.
