Senior Software Engineer

Role overview

This is a senior engineering role at an early-stage fintech building modern infrastructure for global money movement. The position focuses on designing scalable backend systems and core platform components that let businesses move value instantly, securely, and with full compliance, leveraging blockchain rails alongside an enterprise-grade experience. You will work closely with engineering leadership on architectural decisions, ship production systems serving real customers from day one, and carry significant technical ownership in a fast-paced, high-impact environment.

Responsibilities

- Design and build scalable, production-grade backend services and distributed systems powering payment infrastructure - Develop core platform components including payment orchestration, ledgering, workflow engines, partner integrations, and public APIs - Drive architectural decisions and influence engineering standards as the platform scales - Own projects end-to-end, from technical design through deployment and long-term operation - Collaborate with engineering and product teammates to solve complex infrastructure and financial-systems challenges - Mentor teammates, raise the engineering bar, and contribute to a collaborative, kind, high-achieving culture

Requirements

- 5+ years of professional software engineering experience building and operating production systems - Background in high-growth startups or fast-paced environments with significant ownership - Strong backend engineering fundamentals and experience building reliable, scalable distributed systems - Proven ability to independently drive complex technical initiatives and make thoughtful architectural decisions - Experience in one or more of the following areas: infrastructure or DevOps, payments or financial systems, or blockchain and crypto infrastructure - Authorization to work in the United States

Nice to have

- Experience designing APIs, distributed systems, or event-driven architectures - Familiarity with modern cloud infrastructure and infrastructure-as-code tooling - Background in fintech, payments, banking, digital assets, or other regulated industries - Experience helping shape engineering practices, technical strategy, or scaling engineering organizations - Familiarity with AI-assisted development workflows and modern engineering tooling - Hands-on experience with Ruby on the backend, TypeScript on the frontend, and AWS with Terraform and Kubernetes for infrastructure
