Senior .NET Engineer (Benelux)

Role overview A senior .NET engineering role focused on designing and delivering scalable, resilient cloud applications on Azure. The work combines hands-on coding with technical leadership, mentoring, and a craftsmanship mindset applied across the full feature lifecycle.

Responsibilities - Design, build, and operate scalable, resilient cloud applications on Microsoft Azure using C#, .NET, and SQL, meeting defined bars for security, performance, and reliability. - Write clean, well-tested code grounded in software craftsmanship principles, including comprehensive unit tests and attention to maintainability and reuse. - Take ownership of features end-to-end, from initial concept and design through deployment, often acting as the lead developer alongside an architect or product designer. - Mentor and support junior engineers through code reviews, pair programming, and constructive feedback that builds craft skills. - Provide technical leadership in architecture and design discussions, advocating for simple, elegant solutions and challenging unnecessary complexity. - Continuously improve the codebase through refactoring, paying down technical debt, and iterating on quality over time.

Requirements - Senior-level experience building production systems with C#, .NET, and SQL on Azure. - Strong grasp of software craftsmanship, clean code, and testing practices including unit testing. - Demonstrated ability to own features end-to-end and collaborate with architects, designers, and product roles. - Track record of mentoring engineers and contributing to a thoughtful, feedback-driven team culture. - Comfort making pragmatic architectural trade-offs and pushing back on needless complexity. - Experience working asynchronously in a distributed setup with limited formal structure.
