Job details
About this role
Role overview A senior-level front-end engineering role focused on building polished, high-quality digital products for a globally distributed design and technology team. The position centers on crafting user-facing experiences in React while contributing to technical direction and product outcomes across multiple client engagements.
Responsibilities - Design, build, and maintain front-end features in React using modern JavaScript and TypeScript, including reusable UI components and responsive interfaces. - Partner with designers, back-end engineers, and product managers in an asynchronous workflow, and communicate directly with clients to clarify requirements and demo work. - Drive projects from concept through deployment, making architectural decisions, outlining implementation plans, and following through on delivery. - Profile and improve performance, accessibility, and reliability — refining load times, animations, and cross-browser behavior. - Contribute to brainstorming and technical discussions, introducing tools, patterns, and process improvements that raise the team's quality bar. - Debug production issues and iterate on features based on feedback and observed usage.
Requirements - Significant professional experience as a front-end engineer, with senior-level ownership of production systems. - Strong proficiency in React, modern JavaScript or TypeScript, and contemporary build tooling. - Track record of building accessible, responsive, performance-tuned interfaces. - Comfort working asynchronously within a distributed, self-managed team structure. - Ability to lead technical discussions, make pragmatic trade-off decisions, and mentor peers. - Strong written communication skills, including the ability to produce clear design and implementation documentation.
Nice to have - Experience collaborating directly with clients in a consultancy or product studio environment. - Familiarity with design systems, animation libraries, or front-end testing frameworks. - Interest in shaping engineering culture, hiring, or process design in a growing organization.
Benefits and work setup - Fully remote, globally distributed team with async-first communication. - Self-managed culture that prioritizes ownership, iteration, and continuous feedback over rigid hierarchy. - Interview process includes a portfolio review, a take-home trial, an engineering deep dive, and a discussion of prioritization and cross-discipline collaboration.
