Senior DBA / Database Architect (North America)

Role overview A senior-level opportunity for a database specialist to architect and optimize real-time data systems across diverse client engagements. Responsibilities - Design and optimize real-time databases and data systems with a focus on performance, scalability, and quality - Tune, productionize, and refine data systems and machine-learning models to improve effectiveness and efficiency - Drive end-to-end ownership of substantial features, partnering with architects, backend developers, or analysts - Mentor and support junior engineers through design reviews, pair programming, and constructive feedback - Provide technical leadership in architecture discussions, advocating for simple and pragmatic solutions - Champion best practices in quality, security, and operations, including CI/CD, monitoring, and privacy compliance

Requirements - Significant experience as a DBA or database architect working on production systems - Deep expertise in real-time data systems, performance tuning, and scalable architectures - Proven ability to take features from initial concept through deployment as a key contributor - Strong communication skills for design discussions, mentoring, and cross-team technical leadership - Comfort with CI/CD pipelines, observability tooling, and operational best practices - A pragmatic mindset that challenges unnecessary complexity
