About this role
Role overview This is a senior-level opportunity for an experienced .NET engineer to design, build, and ship resilient cloud applications on Microsoft Azure. The position sits within a globally distributed engineering organization that values ownership, craftsmanship, and continuous improvement, and the work spans the full lifecycle from architecture through deployment.
Responsibilities - Architect and develop scalable, secure, high-performance cloud services in C#, .NET, and SQL on Azure, following established coding standards. - Produce clean, well-tested, maintainable code with comprehensive unit-test coverage, applying software craftsmanship principles throughout. - Drive substantial product features end-to-end, often acting as the primary developer alongside an architect or product designer. - Mentor junior engineers through code reviews and pair programming, offering constructive feedback that raises the team's overall quality bar. - Lead technical discussions on architecture and design, advocating for simple, pragmatic solutions and pushing back on unnecessary complexity. - Continuously refactor and refine the codebase, balancing new feature delivery with paying down technical debt.
Requirements - Several years of professional experience building production .NET applications with C# and SQL. - Hands-on experience designing and operating services on Microsoft Azure. - Strong commitment to code quality, testing, and software craftsmanship. - Demonstrated ability to take ownership of features from concept to production deployment. - Track record of mentoring engineers and contributing to a thoughtful, learning-oriented team culture. - Comfort working in a distributed, async-first environment with a high degree of autonomy and self-management.
Nice to have - Experience providing technical leadership in architecture reviews and design sessions. - Familiarity with iterative improvement practices and giving/receiving candid feedback.
Benefits and work setup - Fully remote, globally distributed team with asynchronous communication as the default. - Self-managed culture that trusts engineers to lead initiatives and run with ideas. - Interview process includes a portfolio review, talent team conversation, take-home work trial, engineering deep dive, and project-fit discussion.
