.NET Engineer (Benelux)

Role overview

A Benelux-based .NET Engineer is needed to design and build scalable, resilient cloud applications on Azure. The work spans greenfield products to large-scale enterprise systems, with end-to-end ownership of features alongside architects and product designers. The team is distributed, async-first, and self-managed, with a strong emphasis on software craftsmanship and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

- Design and build secure, high-performance cloud applications on Azure using C#, .NET, and SQL. - Write clean, well-tested code following software craftsmanship principles, with comprehensive unit tests and attention to maintainability. - Take ownership of features from concept through deployment, often acting as the lead developer alongside an architect or product designer. - Continuously refactor and improve the codebase, balancing new feature work with reducing technical debt. - Champion quality, reliability, and scalability through best practices in cloud operations, including monitoring, security, and CI/CD.

Requirements

- Strong proficiency with C#, .NET, and SQL, including experience with Azure cloud services. - Solid understanding of software craftsmanship, automated testing, and clean code practices. - Experience taking substantial features end-to-end as a key developer. - Comfort working asynchronously in a distributed, self-managed environment. - Adaptability to shifting priorities during a scaling, maturing phase.

- Experience across diverse project types, such as AI-powered platforms, fintech products, or large-scale SaaS commerce systems.
