Software Engineer - Backend

Role overview Build and scale a real-time API and backend services that connect enterprise systems with Python microservices and data platforms. The work emphasizes high throughput, low latency, reliability, and deployment across cloud and customer-managed environments where network, identity, and monitoring setups vary.

Responsibilities - Design and operate a Python API on Kubernetes, tuning it for responsive, high-volume workloads. - Maintain backend services in .NET and connect them with Python services and document databases. - Make services resilient to upstream outages, rate limits, retries, and partial failures. - Configure Kubernetes scaling and resource behavior for production workloads. - Deploy portable systems into customer environments with restricted networking and customer-controlled identity. - Profile and improve performance across application code, connections, caching, and downstream calls.

Requirements - At least two years building production backend services or microservices. - Strong Python experience, including FastAPI, asynchronous programming, server tuning, and performance profiling. - At least two years with modern .NET and C#, including REST APIs, dependency injection, and Entity Framework Core. - MongoDB experience covering data modeling, aggregation, indexing, and asynchronous drivers. - Kubernetes and Docker experience, including autoscaling and production deployment patterns. - Knowledge of resilience techniques such as timeouts, retries, circuit breakers, idempotency, and graceful degradation. - Ability to design for restricted network access and custom identity systems, with strong logging, metrics, tracing, and communication skills.

Nice to have - Experience with Databricks, Delta Lake, Spark SQL, or MLflow. - Familiarity with event-driven systems such as Kafka, RabbitMQ, or cloud event services. - Experience with strict enterprise security requirements, private networking, or both SQL and document data stores.
