Principal Product Manager, AI Products
Job details
About this role
Role overview Shape the next generation of an AI-driven analytics suite for the U.S. healthcare ecosystem in a hands-on, individual-contributor seat. The role combines product strategy with direct building, embedded inside small engineering pods that ship new surfaces in weeks rather than quarters. The mandate is to articulate what the product suite should become as AI agents increasingly handle investigation work, then prove it with working software that customers actually use.
Responsibilities - Own the thesis for what customers see and touch, grounded in real workflows and revised as models improve. - Build first versions of new products using AI tools and shared platform primitives, then partner with engineering to scale what works. - Operate inside customer environments when needed, scoping work in real time during contracting cycles and treating deployment as part of the product. - Define the shape of the growing portfolio, deciding what existing solutions become as the new generation lands. - Package offerings for the field by partnering with sales and marketing, running market analysis, and ensuring each new product can be positioned and enabled. - Set the pattern for neighboring pods through architecture decisions and build habits.
Requirements - Demonstrated ability to build the first version of a product yourself, evaluated in the interview, not only managed delivery. - Deep product-level fluency with AI systems, including context and grounding, evaluations and quality gates, agent behavior, and cost. - Comfort working alongside customer environments and contracting cycles, with the judgment to commit responsibly under time pressure. - 10+ years of product experience, including at least one product conceived and shipped that earns meaningful revenue today, plus evidence of what was retired to make room. - Excellent written communication that makes reasoning easy to adopt across functions.
Nice to have - Background in healthcare or regulated data domains such as claims, EHR, patient journeys, or provider analytics, or comparable complexity in supply chain, energy, or financial data. - Experience navigating a company through a platform shift. - A track record of retiring a legacy product without losing its customers.
Benefits and work setup - Hybrid model with hubs in San Francisco, New York City, and Chicago, plus remote-eligible roles depending on scope. - Listed annual base pay ranges from $213,000-$288,000 USD depending on location, with eligibility for performance bonuses, equity awards, comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance, flexible time off, 401(k) with company match, disability and life insurance, and leaves of absence per policy.
