Backend Staff Engineer

Role overview Own the backend data platform that collects, transforms, and reconciles high volumes of cryptocurrency and exchange activity into accurate financial records. This is a hands-on staff-level engineering role combining architecture, delivery, and product ownership for a business-critical distributed system.

Responsibilities - Lead the design, implementation, and operation of backend data services from architecture through deployment and scaling. - Improve throughput, availability, and deterministic processing across high-volume ETL and reconciliation workflows. - Refactor and evolve the backend architecture while maintaining financial-grade data accuracy. - Partner with product and engineering leads to assess proposals and shape technical solutions. - Raise engineering quality through strong code, sound decisions, and technical leadership.

Requirements - 8+ years of experience focused on complex, data-intensive distributed systems. - Deep knowledge of distributed-system patterns, including queues, workers, idempotency, backpressure, rate limits, and retries. - Production experience with DeFi concepts such as automated market makers, lending, staking, liquidity positions, and bridges. - Advanced data modeling and SQL skills. - Strong product ownership, independent judgment, clear communication, and collaborative working habits. - Experience building backend systems in modern TypeScript.
