Manager of Business Analytics, Fraud Ops Automation

Role overview A manager-level analytics role embedded in a fraud operations team that defends a consumer financing business. The position is the analytical and automation engine for investigators, turning manual review work into AI-assisted workflows, surfacing emerging fraud patterns, and building the dashboards and reporting backbone the team relies on. It partners closely with strategy, data, product, and engineering to take AI and automation solutions from prototype to production.

Responsibilities - Design and deploy AI agents and automated workflows that reduce manual effort across fraud investigations, including merchant underwriting and real-time suspicious-customer reviews. - Map investigative workflows end-to-end, identify the highest-value automation opportunities, and deliver solutions that measurably cut handle time and improve decision consistency. - Establish guardrails, quality checks, and human-in-the-loop controls so automated decisions remain accurate, explainable, and auditable. - Deliver on-demand and proactive analysis on suspicious merchants and customers, surfacing emerging patterns and linked activity before they become losses. - Build data-driven case prioritization so investigators focus on the highest-risk work first. - Design and maintain dashboards for investigator productivity, queue health, case outcomes, underwriting throughput, and fraud trends, replacing manual spreadsheet-based reporting. - Define and track operational KPIs such as time to decision, false positive rates, and investigator capacity. - Partner with strategy, product, and engineering to translate investigative findings into rule, policy, and model improvements, and to embed automation into case management workflows.

Requirements - Experience leading analytical or fraud operations work, with a track record of shipping AI- or automation-driven improvements. - Strong SQL and proficiency with Python or R, plus experience working with large unstructured datasets. - Hands-on fluency building AI agents and LLM-based workflows using modern AI frameworks and APIs to automate judgment-heavy processes. - Experience building dashboards and visualizations in tools such as Tableau, Looker, or Power BI. - Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to explain technical work to non-technical partners. - A builder's mindset focused on finding manual processes and automating them. - Comfort operating in a fast-paced, remote-first environment.

Nice to have - Familiarity with case management tools, JIRA, and workflow orchestration. - Experience with anomaly detection, entity resolution, or link analysis. - Background in consumer finance, lending, lease-to-own, buy-now-pay-later, payments, or fintech.

Benefits and work setup Based in or remote within the United States, with hybrid options near Richmond, VA and Arlington, VA offices. Salary range of $128,000 to $165,000 per year depending on experience and location, plus eligibility for the company bonus plan.
