Role overview

A senior Site Reliability Engineering role focused on keeping large, distributed platforms reliable, secure, and scalable. The work spans incident prevention, architectural design, and cross-team coordination in a fast-paced agile environment that supports security-focused products. The position is remote and based in Brazil, partnering with engineering teams across the broader organization.

Responsibilities

- Identify production incident patterns and plan preventive measures to improve long-term reliability. - Design globally distributed systems and supporting processes that scale across regions and services. - Spot deficiencies in current applications and infrastructure and drive fixes through to completion. - Craft tailored solutions to complex technical problems and share them clearly with teammates and adjacent teams. - Make significant technical contributions that may lead to patents, trade secrets, or external publications and presentations. - Translate strategic goals into concrete operational plans, coordinate across functional boundaries, and act as a lead on sub-projects or small initiatives.

Requirements

- BS, MS, or PhD (or equivalent) plus at least eight years of relevant experience. - Proficiency coding in multiple languages such as Python, Ruby, Rust, or JavaScript. - Experience architecting high-scale patterns on AWS, including services like ECS, Lambda, Step Functions, SNS/SQS, Aurora, DynamoDB, CloudFront, S3, AppSync, and API Gateway. - Background designing repeatable CI/CD workflows, ideally with GitLab, and using Terraform, OpenTofu, or similar IaC tools. - Strong communication, documentation, and self-management skills across competing projects. - Ability to debug and explain complex distributed systems, with an Associate-level AWS Cloud Certification.

Nice to have

- Professional-level AWS certification, exposure to GCP or Azure, prior experience at a public company, and open-source contributions or technical writing.
