Snr. Data Engineer (Remote in Brazil)

Role overview

A senior data engineer is needed on a global data platform team to build and operate high-scale, near real-time event pipelines that power expanding product and service teams. The role is fully remote within Brazil, with operational coverage extending into US time zones. Work centers on modern streaming infrastructure and high-throughput event processing.

Responsibilities

- Design, build, and maintain production event-driven data pipelines capable of ingesting thousands of events per second in near real time. - Implement scalable data modeling and orchestration logic that turns raw event streams into optimized datasets for downstream consumers. - Extend core data platform tooling and own release, monitoring, and maintenance of production pipelines. - Partner with upstream product teams, downstream data consumers, SRE/infrastructure, and information security to ensure data quality, security, and compliance. - Use agentic AI tools in daily workflows to speed up development, manage context effectively, and ship maintainable code.

Requirements

- Around 3-5+ years of hands-on data engineering experience building production data platforms; demonstrated impact matters more than a formal degree. - Strong proficiency in Python, SQL, and PySpark. - Solid practical experience with AWS services and Lakehouse or Data Lake fundamentals. - Familiarity with high-throughput event streaming and real-time processing patterns. - Clear verbal and written English communication skills for collaborating with international teams.
