Job details
About this role
Role overview A Senior Software Engineer II role on the Customer Experience team behind a commerce media and rewards platform that connects financial institutions, fintech partners, and merchants. The engineer designs and builds the services that ingest, match, and settle transactions at scale, while raising the bar on operational readiness, testing, and documentation across the team's surface area.
Responsibilities
- Architect scalable backend services for transaction matching, offer ingestion, and settlement pipelines - Own features end to end, including discovery, specification, implementation, testing, and production rollout with a written launch and rollback plan - Participate in on-call rotation, incident response, and triage, driving root-cause fixes over one-off patches - Strengthen issuer and client-facing APIs and SDKs so partners and internal teams can self-serve more issues - Mentor engineers, contribute to design and architecture reviews, and help consolidate or retire legacy services - Champion improvements to authentication, rate limiting, deployment, observability, error handling, and test coverage - Write clear documentation and runbooks so ownership is distributed across the team
Requirements
- Expert programming skills in Go and/or TypeScript, building scalable, secure, high-performance backend services - Solid experience with distributed systems, event-driven architectures (such as SQS or Temporal), and both relational and document databases (Postgres and MongoDB) - Proficiency with AWS and Infrastructure-as-Code using Terraform, including containers (Kubernetes/EKS) and serverless components (Lambda) - Experience with transaction processing, matching, or ingestion pipelines where correctness and idempotency matter - Comfort leading a technical project from discovery through production rollout and driving cross-team collaboration - US core business hours availability and willingness to travel for company meetings
Nice to have
- Background in card-linked offers, loyalty, fintech, or another transaction-intensive marketplace - Familiarity with partner data ingestion (file-based or API) and the validation needed to run it reliably - Experience with Cognito-based auth, API gateway enforcement, claims-based authorization, or platforms like Databricks - Contributions to open-source projects or the broader tech community - Track record of productivity and collaboration in remote, startup environments
Benefits and work setup
- Remote-first position - US compensation range of $160,000 to $190,000 USD; Argentina compensation range of $120,000 to $140,000 USD - Flexible PTO with a minimum requirement of one day off per quarter and ten days per year - 11 federal holidays observed, plus additional days for Black Friday and Christmas Eve (US employees) - Health, dental, and vision insurance - 401k with employer match (US employees) - Coworking space and work-from-home setup reimbursement - Periodic company offsites for planning, team-building, and networking
