Role overview A Director of Product Management role owning the top-of-funnel and merchant acquisition strategy for a core small-business financing offering, leading Product Owners and Business Analysts. The director partners with a counterpart who owns Decisioning and Underwriting to deliver a cohesive journey from first touchpoint to funding, with a strong emphasis on experimentation, AI-enabled workflows, and third-party acquisition integrations.
Responsibilities - Define a product vision for the acquisition funnel and translate company strategy into actionable priorities. - Drive user research, persona work, and journey mapping to remove friction in merchant onboarding. - Champion A/B and multivariate testing, track conversion metrics, and apply AI to accelerate sales and acquisition. - Run the development lifecycle with strong product routines, scalable processes, and team-level metrics that surface bottlenecks. - Own the strategy and roadmap for third-party and API integrations that unlock new referral channels and integrated partner experiences. - Mentor and develop a high-performing team, establish clear KPIs, and model core product management best practices.
Requirements - 7–10+ years of product management experience with at least 3+ years leading people in Fintech, B2B SaaS, or SMB lending. - Deep understanding of small business lending and fintech, with strong familiarity in the B2B sales cycle and merchant acquisition. - Proven track record optimizing sales funnels and working across CRM/sales enablement tools such as the Salesforce ecosystem. - Comfort using AI tools in daily workflows and eagerness to embed AI in go-to-market strategies and product features. - Technical acumen across third-party SaaS and API integrations, including how to balance technical debt against new feature work. - Strong leadership and stakeholder skills, including leading without authority across engineering, design, and revenue teams.
