Senior Backend Engineer - Client integrations (USA)

Role overview

Build and improve external-facing APIs and integrations that support customers’ core workflows. You’ll translate product needs into reliable backend behavior, connect the platform with third-party services, and help improve performance and stability while collaborating with engineers across several disciplines.

Responsibilities

- Design and implement API endpoints used by customer-facing workflows. - Integrate the platform with third-party services and systems. - Improve database performance and query efficiency. - Turn product requirements into dependable business logic. - Investigate and resolve customer issues, and contribute to platform speed, stability, and usability. - Work with full-stack, data, machine learning, and DevOps colleagues on scalable backend solutions.

Requirements

- At least five years of software engineering experience. - Strong experience with system design, debugging, and problem solving. - Proficiency in Python, or strong experience in another object-oriented language. - Experience with serverless technologies such as Lambda or EC2, asynchronous workflows, and cloud environments. - Comfort with relational databases; PostgreSQL experience is preferred. - Ability to own projects with limited oversight, communicate proactively, and iterate based on measured results.

Nice to have

- Experience building external-facing APIs or integrating third-party systems. - Familiarity with large language models or generative AI, or with distributed systems.
