Senior Data Modeler

Role overview Design analytics-ready data models for healthcare reporting, with particular focus on encounters and related payer or provider information. You will translate business needs into logical and physical warehouse or lakehouse models, working across data engineering, business intelligence, and stakeholder teams in a long-term remote contract.

Responsibilities - Design and maintain Kimball-style dimensional models, including star or snowflake schemas, fact and dimension tables, and slowly changing dimensions. - Model healthcare encounter data in line with business and regulatory needs. - Write, tune, and debug advanced SQL for extraction, transformation, validation, and profiling. - Partner with data engineers to implement models in warehouse or lakehouse environments. - Profile data, run quality checks, identify gaps, and investigate source-to-target issues. - Maintain model documentation, data dictionaries, and mapping specifications; coordinate with BI teams on reporting needs.

Requirements - Hands-on healthcare experience with encounter data. - Experience with claims, member, or provider data in a payer or provider setting. - Strong Kimball dimensional modeling skills, including facts, dimensions, schemas, and SCDs. - Advanced SQL skills across complex queries, performance tuning, debugging, and large dataset profiling. - Ability to design logical and physical models for reporting and analytics. - Strong problem-solving, attention to detail, and ability to lead technical discussions across teams.

Nice to have - Familiarity with healthcare data standards, claims workflows, and payer or provider data structures. - A consultative approach to resolving client problems.

Benefits and work setup This is a full-time, long-term remote contract with an EU-based contracting arrangement. Availability for US-hours overlap is required, typically 2–6 PM CET and ideally until 7 PM CET. The position is listed for an ASAP start.
