About this role

Role overview A Release Engineer is needed on an infrastructure team responsible for the delivery pipeline behind a large suite of developer IDEs built from a single massive monorepo with hundreds of daily contributors and hundreds of thousands of automated tests. The role blends technical ownership of CI/CD with process stewardship, focused on making releases predictable, repeatable, and stress-free for engineering teams.

Responsibilities - Design, configure, and maintain CI/CD pipelines so releases are reliable and repeatable. - Manage branching strategies, coordinate code freezes, and handle hotfix releases across multiple products. - Diagnose pipeline failures, clear build bottlenecks, and prevent delivery disruptions. - Automate repetitive release tasks and improve issue-tracking workflows. - Gather requirements from development teams and convert pain points into tooling improvements. - Lead post-incident retrospectives and communicate process changes to stakeholders during transitions.

Requirements - Proven hands-on experience building and troubleshooting CI/CD pipelines such as TeamCity, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or equivalents. - Fluency in Kotlin or Java. - Practical experience with Gradle or comparable build systems. - Comfort in Linux environments with shell scripting. - Experience using issue-tracking tools like YouTrack or Jira. - Professional written and spoken English and the ability to collaborate across multiple engineering teams.

Nice to have - Background with large-scale monorepo builds, plugin compatibility testing, or multi-product release pipelines. - Familiarity with internal toolchains such as TeamCity and YouTrack.

Benefits and work setup - Competitive base salary tied to skills and experience. - Flexible work location with the option to work from home or the office. - Up to 30 days per year of remote work from abroad. - Extra time off, learning and development budget, language classes, mental health support, and sports benefits. - On-site perks such as hot meals or a lunch allowance depending on location.
