Backend Engineer

Role overview Build and maintain the server-side services behind an AI-enabled project management platform. The work covers API and database design, integration of machine learning capabilities, and the reliability and security of production systems. You’ll collaborate with frontend and product colleagues and contribute to engineering decisions and reviews.

Responsibilities - Design and implement scalable backend services and REST or GraphQL APIs. - Create robust database architectures and work with relational or document databases. - Integrate AI and machine learning models into production applications. - Improve system performance, reliability and security. - Write maintainable, well-tested code and take part in architectural decisions and code reviews. - Coordinate with frontend engineers and product teams on delivery.

Requirements - At least four years of backend development experience. - Strong proficiency in one or more of Node.js, Python or Go. - Experience with RESTful APIs and GraphQL. - Strong database design skills, including PostgreSQL or MongoDB. - Knowledge of microservices, cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP or Azure, and security practices.

Nice to have - Familiarity with Docker and Kubernetes.
